Nick, who wed superstar Mariah Carey in the Bahamas two years ago after a whirlwind six-week romance, is quick to points out he was an established actor, rapper, producer and DJ before they married.
Now he is the CEO of his recently launched multimedia company. And he’s sick and tired of people suggesting he married the 41-year-old singer for her money or to further his career.
“That type of stuff is humorous to me,” Nick, 29, said. “Anybody who knows me or talks to me for five minutes knows clearly that’s not the picture.”
Nick started his showbiz career on Nick’s All That in the 1990s and was a millionaire by the time he was just 15 years old, he says.
Growing up poor, he was determined to be a success, says a family insider – and he resents it when people dismiss his accomplishments.

“Nick is a pretty easygoing guy,” the insider continued. “He’s been a good sport about people giving Mariah credit for everything – even when they implied she helped launch his career. But now he’s getting fed up with hearing he’s Mr. Mariah Carey.
“He says it’s insulting to both of them to say he’s with Mariah for her success or money. Nick loves Mariah and he’s proud of her work, but the only thing she changed for him is his personal life.
“She did not change who he was professionally.”
