Redmund O’Neal will be freed from jail in order to go to rehab, it has been reported.

The son of the late Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal will be treated for drug addiction, after being arrested for possession and then violating his parole. He pleaded no contest Friday in court.

Farrah Fawcett, the 1970s “It Girl” known for her cascading golden hair and California body, died today after enduring a two and half year brave & gracious battle with cancer.

From her glory days as a pinup girl whose figure graced a generation of teenagers’ walls, to her valiant fight against cancer, at 62, Farrah Fawcett is a symbol of the will to live.

One of Farrah’s publicists says:

I am sorry to say our Farrah has passed to a better place and left the pain and confines of her bed behind. She is free to be the woman we all knew and loved. So few have touched so many. You all keep Fighting the Fight.

Fearing Farrah is close to end of her battle with cancer, family have gathered at her bedside to say their final goodbyes.

Her official blog has revealed the Charlie’s Angels star was given the last rites earlier today.

Farrah, is holding on, and has been given last rites. Her vision, dream, and mission was to give people hope to a cure. That is the message of the video she wanted aired. I assure you that we will continue and will live on. Fight the Fight

Fawcett was diagnosed with cancer three years ago.

Farrah Fawcett’s long-time love Ryan O’Neal, 68, tells ABC’s “20/20″ that he plans to marry Fawcett soon – the interview is set to air this Friday.

We are sad to report Farrah, who’s bravely battled cancer, was just admitted to a southern California hospital.

We also hear sadly, O’Neal, is seeking permission for their son Redmond to temporarily leave prison to see Fawcett for what could be the last time.

Her publicist declined to confirm the reports saying only: “We are not disclosing where she is at this time. She continues to be treated for her condition.”

Farrah Fawcett in “Last Stages” of Cancer Battle

One hottest pin up blonds of the 1970s, Actress Farrah Fawcett is said to be in the last stages of her battle against cancer, according to friends close to the star.

While doctors for the 62 year old actress have recently made public statements indicating her condition has not changed, Ryan O’Neal revealed that her “treatment” has “pretty much ended” and she stays in bed and is on IV’s.

Fawcett’s son, Redmond, with actor and partner Ryan O’Neal is currently behind bars following his recent drug arrest. He was allowed to leave jail last month to visit his ailing mother whom he claimed weighed only 86 pounds.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore says O’Neal’s family paid roughly $1,300 so that deputies could supervise the three-hour visit.

As evidenced by these more recent photos, time did little to diminish her natural beauty.

A sad end to a beauty icon indeed.
