Chris Tucker is the Latest Hollywood victim of the IRS

It appears the real estate bubble exploded all over Chris Tucker the tax-troubled star is trying to sell his Florida mansion for $2 million even though he paid $6 million for it just three years ago!  According to public records, Tucker took out a $4.2 million loan to score the 8861 square foot home back in 2007 a home that includes 5 bedrooms, a wine cellar, pirate ship-themed home theater and a library. The home is located in swanky Montverde a suburb of Orlando, Florida.

Chris Tucker’s ongoing tax problems have reached epic proportions as documents filed with the L.A. County Recorder’s office on Tuesday show the actor owes the IRS more than $11 million in back taxes.

The years in question are 2001, 2002 and 2004 through 2006. Tucker, best known for his role as detective James Carter in the Rush Hour franchise opposite Jackie Chan, owes over $4 million for 2001 alone. The actor has not commented.

This isn’t the first time Tucker has had issues with paying taxes. California also filed a tax lien on June 24 against the star for over $3.5 million dollars for four years worth of unpaid taxes.

Many celebrities do not handle their own finances. It is unclear if Tucker files his own tax returns.

Nicolas Cage reportedly owes the IRS some $14 million for taxes unpaid in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2008. He has blamed an irresponsible financial adviser and has promised to pay his debts.

Actor and comedian Sinbad reportedly owes more than $8 million in delinquent taxes. In 2009, the IRS filed a tax lien of about $1.7 million against actress Pamela Anderson and the State of California filed a $252,360 lien against her.

In 2007, singer Marc Anthony, husband of Jennifer Lopez, agreed to pay $2.5 million in back taxes, interest and penalties after he failed to file tax returns for five years.

Actor Wesley Snipes recently lost an appeal of a three-year prison sentence for failing to file income tax returns between 1999 and 2001 after a court recently upheld his 2008 conviction, and the actor appears to be headed for jail.
