Michael Jacksons Victory Tour Glove sells for $ 190,000

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

LAS VEGAS – Bidders from around the world bought up Michael Jackson memorabilia worth nearly $1 million at an auction on the anniversary of his death, including $190,000 for the Swarovski-crystal-studded glove he wore on his 1984 Victory Tour.

The bidding that began Friday on more than 200 items was “unlike anything we’ve ever experienced,” said Darren Julien of Julien’s Auctions, which ran the auction at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Some items, like the glove, brought 10 times more than their estimated value, he said.

“It just shows you Michael Jackson is the most sought after and most collectible celebrity of all time. It was just phenomenal,” Julien told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

“People flew in from Asia, Russia, all over. Now that he’s gone, we now realize the true legend we lost,” said Julien, who has not had a similar auction in his 15 years in the business. He predicted the sales would easily top $1 million by the time the auction wrapped up Sunday.

The glove had been expected to sell for between $20,000 and $30,000. The $190,000 sale price included the buyer’s premium of $30,000, a standard industry fee that goes to the auction house, Julien said.

The winning bidder was Wanda Kelley of Los Angeles, who also bought a number of Jackson’s albums at the auction, the Las Vegas Sun reported. She said she was prepared to go higher if necessary.

“Let’s just say I wasn’t walking out of here without that glove,” she said.

A pair of Jackson’s stage-worn loafers that were listed as worth $2,000 to $3,000 went for $90,000.

The custom jacket that the pop singer was wearing during his interview with Barbara Walters was listed at $6,000 to $8,000. It sold for $120,000.

A white Fedora sold for $56,250. One of the last autographs Jackson signed, and dated June 24, 2009, in his handwriting, went for $21,000.

Non-Jackson items that sold at the auction included:

A Jimi Hendrix Fender guitar for $180,000.

Prince’s “Purple Rain” handwritten lyrics, which sold for $66,000.

An Elvis Presley shirt worn in 1956 on “The Milton Berle Show,” which fetched $61,200.

Did Michael Jackson kill himself ?

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

We’ve been wondering ever since he was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson how Dr. Conrad Murray would try to explain it away.

Now we know: He plans to argue that MJ did himself in.

Murray’s legal defense will hinge on the argument that the pop icon gave himself the fatal dose of Propofol, a hospital-grade anesthesia authorities say killed him.

The defense will argue how Michael Jackson was a long-time Propofol addict, and that “Michael liked to push it” via IV, to the point of going to extreme measures.

His argument will attempt to establish that Jackson’s own reckless behavior was the cause of his death, and refute that Murray covered up evidence in the case.

The doctor’s story of the Jackson death timeline is likely to play out as such:

What really happened June 25? Only Michael Jackson and Dr. Conrad Murray know for sure, and the latter has a markedly different version of events than the LAPD.

Around 10:50 a.m. on June 25, Dr. Conrad Murray gave Michael Jackson 25 mg of Propofol from a 20 ml bottle, which is only about 1/8 of the bottle.

The dose Dr. Murray administered would keep someone asleep for only 5-10 minutes, but the Propofol, along with Ativan and Versed already in MJ’s system, had a synergistic effect that put Jackson to sleep for a longer period.

For the next hour, Dr. Murray stayed in the room and was on the phone much of the time. He didn’t leave the room to make the calls because MJ liked activity in the room, regularly sleeping with the lights on and the TV blaring.

Around noon, Murray left the room for approximately two minutes to go to the bathroom. While he was gone, the defense believes Jackson suddenly woke up, frustrated he had spent nearly nine hours trying in vain to sleep.

The defense theory: MJ took the 20 ml bottle of Propofol, self-injected the remainder of it via IV and caused a massive overdose, stopping his heart.

Dr. Murray found Jackson with eyes open and pupils dilated, dropped the phone (he was speaking with girlfriend Nicole Alvarez) and performed CPR.

The company has joined forces with John Reznikoff, who has the world’s largest collection of celebrity hair.

Fragrances have already been concocted using the DNA of stars including Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and Napoleon Bonaparte.

The firm’s chairman Carlton Enoch said: “We use the genetic code to formulate the fragrance. If you are putting on MJ’s perfume, it’s a unique fragrance to him. The biggest seller is Elvis, but MJ is selling very well too.”

Enoch added that the scents are “strong”, contain no alcohol, and use aloe vera so that the smell lasts all day and is good for the skin.

He continued: “We had the actor Samuel L. Jackson call up to get his own perfume made – it’s so unique and special that he wanted it.”

The late ‘Thriller’ singer’s brother Jermaine Jackson paid tribute to the star when accepting the prizes for Favourite Soul/ R’n'B Artist, Favourite Pop/Rock Male Vocalist, Favourite Pop/Rock Album and Favourite Soul/R’n'B Album for his ‘Number Ones’ greatest hits compilation, praising his life philosophy.

Wearing a single white glove in tribute to Michael, Jermaine said: “It’s not just about the winnings, the awards. It’s mainly the message. The message Michael had will live on forever. He saw good in everyone. Start with love and let’s love each other.”

Michael’s wins took him to a record-breaking total of 23 AMAs for his career, however, he failed to win Artist of the Year, the only other category he was nominated in.

The honour went instead to ‘Love Story’ singer Taylor Swift, who was amazed to be handed five accolades, including Favourite Pop/Rock Female Artist, Favourite Adult-Contemporary Artist, Favourite Country Album for ‘Fearless’ and Favourite Country Female Artist.

Black Eyed Peas were named Favourite Soul/ R’n'B Group and Favourite Pop/Rock Group and wowed the audience at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre with a rendition of their hits ‘I Got A Feeling’ and ‘Boom Boom Pow’, backed by dancers wearing outfits made of stereo speakers.

Janet Jackson had opened the show with a medley of her greatest hits, while Lady Gaga’s performance also proved a talking point.

The ‘Poker Face’ singer, wearing a spectacular headdress and vest filled with lights, performed songs from her new album, ‘The Fame Monster’, and used her microphone to break into a glass case containing a grand piano. As she started to play, the instrument caught fire.

Other performers included Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys and Jay-Z, and Jennifer Lopez, who fell over mid-way through her tricky dance routine.

Dr. Conrad Murray, more evidence MJ’s doctor is a scum bag!

The physician being investigated in Michael Jackson’s death has reached an agreement in a separate child support case that will keep him out of jail.

Prosecutors sought an arrest warrant for Dr. <we use that term loosely> Conrad Murray after he failed to appear for previous hearings in the case. He is accused of owing more than $14,000 to a woman and her son.

With Murray in court Monday, his lawyer, Christopher Aaron, paid $700 cash and promised to pay $303 more as part of the deal approved by Clark County District Court Judge Gerald Hardcastle.

Aaron has said Murray has been unable to pay because he had to close his medical practice and move due to threats following Jackson’s death June 25.

Murray told investigators he administered propofol as a sleep aid, along with multiple sedatives, in the hours before Jackson died.

Janet Jackson begins to speak on brother Michael’s death

Janet Jackson opens up about Michaels death

Janet Jackson opens up about Micheal's death

Janet Jackson speaks for the first time about Michael Jackson’s death.

Janet Jackson has kept quiet about the death of her beloved brother Michael Jackson, until now. Janet will break her silence for the first time since the King of Pop passed away on June 25th.

Jackson says she believes that Dr. Conrad Murray, who was Michael Jackson’s personal live in doctor is to blame for his death, and that he should no longer be permitted to practice medicine.

“He was the one who was administering,” Janet Jackson said. “I think he should be responsible.”

Janet Jackson speaks of when she first heard the news. Saying she was in her New York home and her assistant who had been watching CNN informed her that Michael had been hospitalized. Janet says she then proceeded to call her mother Katherine, brother Tito, and sister LaToya to confirm the bad news.

“I told them to call me back when they got to the hospital. And I remember thinking, nobody’s calling me back, so I tried calling again and that’s how I found out he was no longer… I couldn’t believe it. It just didn’t ring true to me,” said Janet. “It felt like a dream… its still difficult for me to believe. Its, you know, you have to accept what it is.”

Dr. Conrad Murray has not been charged, but police are watching him as Michael Jackson’s death has been ruled a homicide. “a day doesn’t go by that I don’t think about him <Michael>,” says Janet Jackson.
