Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

Chad Ochocinco will try to play soccer during the NFL lockout.

Chad Ochocinco of the Cincinnati Bengals is set for a four-day tryout with Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer starting Tuesday.

The soccer club said Wednesday that after the tryout, it would determine whether to extend the trial period.

“We’re always searching for players who can help our team and bringing in new talent,” Sporting Kansas City manager Peter Vermes said. “We know that Chad is an exceptional athlete and that he loves the game of soccer, and he did play a lot when he was younger. We’re excited to see how his skills will translate once he arrives next week and begins training with our team.”

Chad Ochocinco started playing soccer at age 4 but chose to focus on a real sport, football in high school.

“Due to the NFL lockout, I’m excited to be able to follow my childhood dream of playing for a Major League Soccer team,” Chad Ochocinco said.

Chad said he uses a soccer ball to warm up for NFL practices and games.

Bad move for Chad to try and play soccer it will diminish his image in the NFL and if he gets hurt playing soccer it could ruin his NFL career.

Dwayne Wade wins custody of his kids

Monday, March 14th, 2011

After two years of an ugly custody battle with his wife Siohvaughn, NBA star Dwayne Wade came out victorious. It is easy to win custody of your kids if you are a multi millionaire.

On Friday, Wade’s sons, Zaire and Zion, arrived in Miami. They previously lived in Chicago with Wade’s ex-wife, Siohvaughn. Wade told the Associated Press that it was a “huge weight” off his back.

“My life changed in a huge way,” Wade said. “Mentally, I’ve been preparing for it for over a year now. To me, it’s bigger than that. For me, it shows a lot of people that you need to fight to be in your kids’ lives sometimes. You fight until you can’t fight any more. That’s all I was trying to be, a father in his kids’ lives.”

Wade and his ex-wife separated in August of 2007. After the divorce was finalized, he sought custody of the children. Siohvaughn Wade, will have “regular parenting time” on alternating weekends in Miami. The sons will be allowed to visit Chicago on certain holidays, including Mother’s Day.

“I’m not going to say, ‘OK, I won,’” Wade said. “I think them living here, being here, it’s a great opportunity for them and I’m looking forward to it for them, to grow up with me and us learning together, how to be father-son. So I’m excited.” The real question is who is going to raise his children now ? Wade plays a 82 game NBA season and is on the road almost 6 months out of the year and he will not be taking his kids with him. Seems like they would of been better off living with their mother.
