The Old West Show & Auction had estimated the tintype — an early photographic technique that used metal plates — to bring in between $300,000 and $400,000.

“When the bidding ended, the whole room erupted in clapping and people leapt to their feet,” said Melissa McCracken, spokeswoman for the auction. “I’ve never experienced anything like this before,”

The winning bidder was billionaire William Koch.

The auction started with five bidders. Within two minutes, the bids shot up to a million dollars. “The bidding was absolutely crazy,” McCracken said.

Billy the Kid reportedly paid 25 cents to have the photo taken in Fort Sumner, New Mexico.

The outlaw was born Henry McCarty but was also known as William H. Bonney and Henry Antrim. Popular history has him gunning down 21 men, but many historians say the number was closer to nine.

He later died at the hands of another sheriff when he was only 21.

The annual auction is known for its collection of Wild West memorabilia. Last year, it auctioned off the gun collection of Roy Rogers, “the King of the Cowboys” who appeared in more than 100 movies.

When it comes to hairstyles, Gag has done every hairdo from bow-tie and bangs, to soda-can hair rollers, to a wig molded into the shape of a telephone but she/he hung up the wig (literally, it’s sitting on a mannequin head atop her piano, right in front of her) for her performance of ‘Hair’ on the ‘Paul O’Grady Show.’

In the comedy horror flick, out in August, Colin Farrell plays a secret vampire whose neighbor (Anton Yelchin) believes he’s responsible for a string of deaths in their town. “Do they have a movie coming out?” laughed Fright Night costar Christopher Mintz-Plasse when I recently asked him about competing with Twilight.

Mintz-Plasse says there is no competition. “It’s a good funny scary movie,” he said. “Their vampires glitter but ours actually die in the sunlight.”

Rounding out the cast are Toni Collette and Imogen Poots. But the question remains, which film has the better looking bloodsuckers? “They got Robert Pattinson who’s a stud but then we got Colin Farrell who’s got the age and the studliness,” Mintz-Plasse said.

In other words, It’s on, people! Let the Pattinson vs. Farrell battle begin.

However, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians beauty has been left fuming after writers at In Touch Weekly published this week’s cover story with the headline, ‘Kim Caught Cheating!’

The article accuses Kardashian of embarking on a five-month affair with football player Bret Lockett – while she was dating Humphries. Lockett, who is quoted in the story, appears to confirm the allegations – which Kardashian has strenuously denied.

TMZ.com reports that Kim learned of the tabloid’s plans to print the story earlier this week, prompting her lawyer, Dennis Roach, to fire off a stern letter warning that any publication of the salacious claims are, “at a minimum, damaging, defamatory, and an invasion of her privacy”.

Nevertheless, In Touch editors ran the article in their latest issue, which hit retailers on Wednesday. The piece even features what the magazine insists is sexy text correspondence between Kardashian and the footballer. Kardashian’s representative tells the website her attorney now plans to sue the magazine and New England Patriots star Lockett.

I doubt In Touch weekly would have run the story if they did not have the proof that Kim is cheating or was cheating. She got caught cheating on Reggie Bush and he dumped her. Where there is smoke there is usually fire.
