Celebrity photographer Derek Blanks of Atlanta recently worked with Kandi Burruss on an alter ego photo shoot. Blanks uses his now infamous “alter-ego” photography to blend images of the same person showing two very different personas.
Such images might include our “good” side and our “bad” side or “public” and “personal” side.
The Buzz is, of course, impressed with Blanks flawless work **we’d expect nothing less 
** but we’re also uber impressed with Miss Kandi Burruss’ choice to forgo self promotion & show a drunk driver hitting a pedestrian. Burruss is an American R&B singer and songwriter, former member of the group Xscape and new cast member on the Real Housewives franchise in Atlanta.
Kandi’s setup choice was inspired by personal tragedy and a desire to reinforce the importance of sober driving.
While staying with Kandi and her fiance AJ, Kandi and AJ gave permission for AJ’s son, his nephew and several of Kandi’s cousins to go out for the evening. The group, who were not under the influence, were hit head-on by a drunk driver.
Kandi tells Essence Magazine “AJ’s nephew was in intensive care and in a coma-like state for over a month with fluid on his brain that they had to drain. I was so emotional because to have some body’s children staying at your house and something traumatic like that happen to them is just a crazy experience. So I wanted to make sure that my photo shoot made a statement that’s why I chose that setup.”
Class isn’t the first thought that comes to mind when I think of the The Real Housewives Franchises but Miss Kandi – you are a true exception.
